PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a structure having a microporous antifouling layer having a new structure capable of suitably reducing rain streak foulings appearing on the surface of the structure such as a tile, especially the rain streak foulings caused by use of a silicone-based sealing agent and a coating liquid for forming the antifouling layer and to provide a method for producing the structure. ;SOLUTION: This structure such as a tile is produced by uniformly coating the outer surface of a substrate such as the tile with fine liquid grains containing silica and a siliceous substance for bonding, then heat-treating the resultant substrate at temperatures of 300-700°C and thereby forming a siliceous binder. The structure has a hydrophyilic microporous antifouling layer having a fine rough surface in which the silica fine particles are bonded and many bent micropores communicating from the surface to the interior on the outer surface of the substrate.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
