The invention relates to biotechnology and can be used for producing hollow microspheres for encapsulating biological objects, e.g., mammal's spermatozoa, oocytes or organism's cells.The process for producing hollow microspheres is characterized in that aqueous solution of melted agarose (1) is sprayed over aqueous medium (3) forming aerosol (4) in gaseous medium at a temperature below gelatinization of agarose aqueous solution with subsequent transfer of formed microspheres to aqueous medium (3). Thus obtained hollow microspheres from agarose gel are ready to encapsulate microscopic biological objects therein.The technical result is aimed at expansion of technical means varieties for siting and storing of microscopic biological objects, simplifying the process for producing hollow microspheres, improving sterility process, developing a new device for siting and storing microscopic biological objects from biochemically inert and non-toxic materials, as well as enhancing transparency, homogeneity and elasticity of the hollow microspheres wall.
