Parasol is made of shade gauze and provides access to 50 per cent solar radiation and therefore only 50 per cent ultraviolet radiation. Shade gauze is widely used in horticulture, it is weather-resistant and can be processed on a normal sewing machine. Another adaptation is for party tents and for semi-permanent half-shade structures in gardens or on camping sites.
