Clearing chain for the transport of ballast of a railway track

The clearing chain has a transverse guide (9) connected to longitudinal guides (12) via guide joints (10). The guides form a channel with upper and lower slide paths (17) and a connecting end slide face (18). The slide end face of the transverse guide is curved towards the guide joint so that an acute angle is enclosed with an extension of the slide end of the longitudinal guide. Deflection of the chain is by contact between chain and end slide face only.
