The invention relates to non-ionic demulsifiers for heavy crude oils and to a process for preparing the same. According to the invention, the demulsifiers are of the block-copolymer type having a content of 13.48...65.27% ethylene oxyde and 22.65...59.43% propylene oxyde, respectively, and the hydrophylic-lyophylic balance of 10.3...16.3, and are prepared by the oxypropylation of an ethoxylated alkyl-phenol.
