The invention relates to the production and use of retroviral vectors for cell-type specific gene transfer, specially to a productionmethod of retroviral vectors containing capsid particles of marine leukemiavirus (MLV) and envelope proteins of human immunodeficiencyviruses (HIV) or simian immunodeficiency viruses (SIV). Said vectors can beused for gene transfer in selected cell types, specially inCD4-positive mammal cells.
