HOMEOLOGOUS RECOMBINATION IN MSH2 INACTIVATED PLANTS OR CELLS THEREOF

A method for producing a hybrid or transgenic plant, or cell thereof, comprising at least the steps of: a) inactivating transitorily MSH2 in a plant or cell thereof, b) introducing in said plant or cell thereof, a targeting sequence having from 0.1 % to 10 % differences with a target sequence in the genome of said plant or cell thereof, under conditions allowing homeologous recombination to occur between said target and targeting sequences, and c) identifying the hybrid or transgenic plant or cell thereof, in which genomic integration of said targeting sequence as occurred through homeologous recombination with said target sequence.
