A method of magnetic resonance imaging, comprising the step of sampling the k-space by means of the method of density weighted or acquisition weighted data acquisition such as density weighted phase encoding or acquisition weighted phase encoding, wherein in the sampling at least one region of the k-space is undersampled with respect to the Nyquist criterion. The reconstruction of the MR image is performed at least in part with the aid of a parallel MR imaging mediod and the influence in the image of the missing k-space data required to fulfil the Nyquist criterion is reduced.
