The method (1) involves determining (S1) an instantaneous track curvature (K) of the curved track section by an optical detection system (2), and calculating (S2) an instantaneous transverse acceleration (a-y-v-x) of the motor vehicle from the determined instantaneous track curvature and an instantaneous velocity (v-x) of the motor vehicle. The instantaneous target curve slope (w-a-y) for the motor vehicle is determined (S3) corresponding to the calculated instantaneous transverse acceleration. The modified instantaneous target curve slope (w-g-a-y) is computed (S4) by weighting the instantaneous target curve slope with a target curve slope weighting factor (G-v-x). Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a device for determining a target curve slope of a motor vehicle when driving a curved track section; and (2) a motor vehicle with a chassis device controllable by a control device.
