An operating canal (9) has a first inlet opening (1) that lies in an endoscope's shank (15) area at a distance from a proximal end and in the shank's center area, especially at a distance of between 60 and 70 cm from the endoscope's distal end. The endoscope also has a second inlet opening near the proximal end or on the endoscope's casing. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) A covering for an endoscope to lock off a first incoming opening with a fixed seal; (2) A cap for an endoscope; (3) A baby endoscope to be inserted into an endoscope's operating canal; (4) A structure made from an endoscope to include a covering, a cap and baby endoscope for carrying out spectacular reflection in bile tracts, i.e. cholangioscopy.
