NONAQUEOUS PRESSURE-SENSITIVE ADHESIVE COMPOSITION, PATCHES AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCTION OF PATCHES

A nonaqueous pressure-sensitive adhesive composition characterized by containing both a non-water-soluble polymer (A) having functional groups capable of forming crosslink points with polyvalent metal ions and a polyvalent metal compound (B); patches obtained by laminating a substrate with the composition; and a process for the production of patches, characterized by comprising preliminarily dissolving a polyvalent metal compound (B) and a chelating agent (C) capable of forming a chelate with the compound (B) in a water-containing solvent, adjusting the pH of the obtained solution to 7 or above, mixing the resulting solution with a non-water-soluble polymer (A) having functional groups capable of forming crosslink points with polyvalent metal ions to prepare an aqueous dispersion, applying the dispersion on a liner or a substrate, and drying the resulting coating to form a nonaqueous pressure-sensitive adhesive layer thereon.
