METHOD FOR ESTIMATING THE OUTPUT VOLTAGE ERROR CAUSED BY DEAD TIME IN A VOLTAGE-TYPE PWM INVERTER

A method for estimating an output voltage error due to dead time in a voltage-type PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) inverter is provided to control the inverter accurately by obtaining accurate output voltage information. A method for estimating an output voltage error due to dead time in a voltage-type PWM inverter includes the steps of: detecting an inverter output current by using a predetermined sampling cycle; determining a location where the inverter output current passes 0 current level within a carrier wave period per the sampling cycle; and estimating the output voltage error added to the inverter output voltage caused by the dead time in accordance with the location where the inverter output current passes 0 current level within a carrier wave period.
