A mobile communication terminal for providing background music and a background music selecting method thereof are provided to enable a control unit to search a predetermined background music corresponding to a calculated biorhythm value in a memory, and to output the searched background music, thereby outputting prediction information about the sensibility of a sending party or a receiving party as a background music. A mobile communication terminal for providing background music includes a memory(106) and a control unit(100). The memory(106) stores a phone number, a birthday data corresponding to the phone number, and background music corresponding to a biorhythm value. The control unit(100) checks a calculation object of biorhythm, and searches the birthday data of the calculation object in the memory(106), and calculates the biorhythm if the birthday data exists, and searches a predetermined background music corresponding to the calculated biorhythm value in the memory(106).
