GLYCOPROTEIN ISOLATED FROM SOLANUM NIGRUM LINNE AND ANTI-COLORECTOTUMORAL PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITION CONTAINING THE GLYCOPROTEIN

A glycoprotein isolated from Solanum nigrum Linne and an anti-colorectal cancer pharmaceutical composition containing the same glycoprotein are provided to induce apoptosis of large intestine cancer cells by inhibiting activity of NF-kB(nuclear factor-kB)- and AP-1(activator protein-1), and iNO(inducible nitric oxide) production, and promoting caspase activity and fragmentation of PARP(polyADP ribose polymerase) and DNA. The anti- colorectal cancer pharmaceutical composition contains glycoprotein isolated from Solanum nigrum Linne as an effective ingredient, wherein the glycoprotein is prepared by dipping Solanum nigrum Linne in distilled water for several months in a darkroom, filtering and concentrating the extract of Solanum nigrum Linne, freeze-drying the concentrate, dissolving the crude extract of Solanum nigrum Linne in distilled water, precipitating proteins in Solanum nigrum Linne solution with ammonium sulfate, centrifuging the solution, collecting the supernatant, dialyzing the supernatant, and freeze-drying the dialyzed product; and the glycoprotein contains 35-45% of glycine and 15-25% of praline, and has molecular weight of 140-160 kDa.
