A casting roll for twin-roll strip caster which can improve quality of edges of a cast strip by preventing solidification delay of molten steel on edges of the casting roll and uniformly solidifying molten steel along a width direction of the casting roll, and a cast strip of which edges have improved quality are provided. In a casting roll for twin-roll strip caster having dimples formed on a surface thereof to prevent a crack of a cast strip, the casting roll for twin-roll strip caster is characterized in that a contact angle(theta1) of the dimples with molten steel(M) of width-directional edge portions of the casting roll is 10 degrees or more smaller than that of a central portion of the casting roll limited by the edge portions. The contact angle(theta1) is determined by the mathematical expression, d=r(1-costheta)/sintheta, where d is a molten steel depth depressed into the dimples, and r is a radius of the dimples. The casting roll comprises a sleeve that is shrink-fitted into an outer peripheral surface of the shaft, and a nickel plating layer plated on an outer peripheral surface of the sleeve, and the dimples are formed on the nickel plating layer.
