The present invention relates to a casting roll of a twin-roll thin plate casting machine and a twin-roll thin plate casting method. According to one convex part of an uneven pattern in the casting roll formed with the uneven pattern including a convex part and a concave part on the surface, a ratio (W/H) between a value (H) which is a sum of a half-length of one concave part adjacent to the circumferential direction of the casting roll and a half-length of the circumferential directional length of the convex part, and a value (W) which is a sum of a half-length of one concave part adjacent to the shaft direction of the casting roll and a half-length of the shaft directional length of the convex part is equal to or greater than 1 and equal to or less than 1.5, thereby capable of securing a good surface quality of a product.
