A method for manufacturing axial symmetric molding glass lens is provided to prepare the lens having improved accuracy and radius of curvature with reduced coefficient nearer to annular central area by forming the lens to have axial symmetric surface to the central axis in the longitudinal direction, the annular central area around the lens surface and a fixing flange area around the annular central area. The mold assembly forms axial symmetric glass lens and comprises upper and lower mold parts(11,12), either of which has specific profile. The profile includes: annular axial symmetric flat area(22); circular axial symmetric lens transcript area(20); and annular axial symmetric intermediate area(21) that is extended from the lens transcript area, becomes a part of the transcript area, is continuously and smoothly connected to the lens transcript area and the flat area and has specific radius of curvature. Value of the radium of curvature is continuously altered in order to satisfy requirements for connecting the lens transcript area to the flat area.
