A method for providing information requested from a user by using a URC and the URC applying the same are provided to offer the requested information to the user by enabling the URC to recognize a code received from the user, generate code information, receive multimedia data corresponding to the code from information providing servers, and output the multimedia data. A code information reader(601) generates code information by recognizing the code through a code recognizer. A server connection setting part(602) sets up connection with the information providing servers by using server address information included in the code information. A multimedia data receiver(603) receives the multimedia data corresponding to a data ID included in the code information from the information providing servers. A multimedia data output part(604) outputs the received multimedia data to an output part. The code includes more than one of a 1D(Dimensional) barcode, a 2D barcode, an RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) tag, or a color code. The code recognizer includes a barcode, RFID, or color code reader.
