WHEN OPEN VEHICLES DOOR, SIDE COLLISION PREVENTION DEVICE AND CONTROL METHOD

An apparatus for preventing side collision of a vehicle is provided to prevent the vehicle from being damaged by raising an alarm sound based on a sensor signal when an obstacle is located nearby the door of the vehicle. An apparatus for preventing side collision of a vehicle comprises a distance detection unit(1), a door-open detection unit(2), a microcomputer(3), a door locking unit(4), and an alarm sound generator(5). The distance detection unit is installed at an outer portion of a door to detect the distance between the door and an obstacle located nearby the door. The door-open detection unit is installed at one side of a door hinge to detect the door-open and the opening angle thereof. The microcomputer(3) outputs a control signal based on detection signals of the distance detection unit and the door-open detection unit.
