POLYMER ELECTROLYTE FOR LITHIUM-SULFUR BATTERY AND LITHIUM-SULFUR BATTERY COMPRISING SAME

PURPOSE: A polymer electrolyte for a lithium-sulfur battery and a lithium-sulfur battery containing the electrolyte are provided, to improve the cycle lifetime of a lithium-sulfur battery. CONSTITUTION: The polymer electrolyte comprises a monomer containing methacrylate group; a peroxide of C6-C40; and an electrolyte solution containing an organic solvent and a lithium salt. Preferably the monomer is represented by the formula 1 or 2, wherein R1 is H or an alkyl group of C1-C6; n is an integer of 1-100,000; and R2 is H or an alkyl group of C1-C6. Preferably the monomer is polyethylene glycol dimethacrylate or poly(ester) (meth)acrylate or poly(ester) (meth)acrylate such that some or all hydroxyl groups in polyester polyol having at least three hydroxyl groups are substituted with (meth)acrylic acid ester and the rest unreacted hydroxyl groups are substituted with a group having no radical reactivity.
