A composition comprising the extracts of Dioscorea quinqueloba and Acanthopanax senticosus is provided to prevent and treat aging and inflammation related to reactive oxygen species, and respiratory diseases related to inflammation and phlegm. The health food composition comprises the extracts of Dioscorea quinqueloba and Acanthopanax senticosus having antioxidative and lipid peroxidation-inhibiting effects, wherein the extracts of Dioscorea quinqueloba and Acanthopanax senticosus are prepared with a solvent selected from water, C1-C4 lower alcohol and mixed solvent thereof and the amount of the extracts of Dioscorea quinqueloba and Acanthopanax senticosus is 0.1-50 wt.% based on the total weight of the composition. The health food composition is formulated as powder, granule, tablet, capsule or drink.
