An earset having an outer warning note recognition apparatus and a method for recognizing an outer warning note of the same are provided to check dangerous condition and to avoid the danger rapidly, by enabling a user to recognize the generation direction of an outer warning note promptly while listening to a portable audio device using the ear set. A microphone(7a,7b) is prepared in a left speaker housing(1a) and a right speaker housing(1b) respectively, and converts an outer warning note into an external acoustic electric signal. A vibration motor(5a,5b) is prepared in the left speaker housing and the right speaker housing respectively. A control part(13) receives the external acoustic electric signal from the microphone of the left and right speaker housing, and compares the left and right external acoustic electric signals when one external acoustic electric signal is higher than a reference level, and drives the vibration motor, or outputs a mixed signal of the external acoustic electric signal and an audio signal to a speaker prepared in the speaker housing outputting a larger external acoustic electric signal.
