METHOD OF EFFECTIVE HANDOVER BETWEEN TWO MOBILE COMMUNICATION MODES AND THE DUAL MODE TERMINAL THEREFOR

An efficient handover method between different mobile communication modes and a dual-mode terminal therefor are provided to disconnect a call logically only, without disconnecting the call with a server during handover so as to minimize call disconnection, thus a user can more smoothly use the currently used service even without a separate operation. If handover occurs while a service is performed, connection with the first communication network module which is currently used is terminated(400-425). A call with the first communication network is terminated, and a socket which is a connection path for performing the service is closed to be on standby until the handover is finished(435,440). If the handover is finished, a call with the second communication network is connected through the second communication network module, and a new socket is generated to continuously perform the service(445-460).
