A method for manufacturing a layered cobalt-nickel-manganese oxide nanocolloid and a nanohybrid of transition metal oxide and the layered cobalt-nickel- manganese oxide nanocolloid are provided to increase the specific surface area of the nanocolloid, thereby effectively applying the nanocolloid and the nanohybrid to catalysts and electrode materials. A metal oxide containing solid-state cobalt, nickel, manganese is treated with strong acid, wherein the metal oxide containing solid-state cobalt, nickel, manganese has a layered structure. The resultant material is reacted with tetra-alkyl ammonium to perform an exfoliating process on the resultant material. The metal oxide containing solid-state cobalt, nickel, manganese is represented by ACo1/3Ni1/3Mn1/3O1/3, wherein A is alkali metal.
