OPTICAL SENSING APPARATUS FOR GOLF PUTTING SIMULATOR AND GOLF PUTTING SIMULATOR USING THE APPARATUS

A small optical sensing apparatus for a golf putting simulator is provided to measure hit directions and speed of a golf ball that are essential elements for a putting simulator. An optical sensing apparatus for a golf putting simulator includes: at least two light emitting devices(1-1,1-2) installed in front and rear of the front side of the floor to emit substantially collimated light; at least two reflecting devices(2-1,2-2) such as mirrors oppositely installed to the light emitting devices to reflect the light therefrom, thereby forming substantially collimated reflected light; and at least two light receiving devices(3-1,3-2) installed in front and rear of the rear side of the floor to receive the reflected light from the reflecting devices. The sensing apparatus counts time gaps t1 and t2 to measure the travel speed of a golf ball(4).
