A method for manufacturing a mesh-type contactor element and a rotary circular mesh-type contactor are provided to apply the mesh-type element contact element to the long-term drainage treatment, by selectively performing a thermal pressing process. A synthetic resin fiber block is cut in a fan shape to prepare a mesh-type contactor element precursor. Penetration holes(20), through which spacers pass, are formed in the mesh-type contactor element precursor. A compression part(25) is formed by compressing an outer circumference(21) of the mesh-type contactor element precursor and the circumference(20) of each penetration hole using a hot pressing machine. The entire surface of the mesh-type contactor element precursor except the outer circumference and the circumference of each penetration hole is thermally compressed at a temperature of 90-140°C so that the mesh-type contactor element precursor has an open area of 90-98 %. The crystallizing of the thermally compressed synthetic fiber is promoted during a stationary period more than five days.
