A method for removing strontium and barium within eutectic salt is provided to remove effectively Sr and Ba contained in waste salt generated due to electrolytic reduction and electrolytic refining, thereby increasing the reusing possibility of the waste salt. Waste salt is melted by putting the waste salt in a basket type porous alumina filter(14) within a reactor(11), and heating the waste salt at a temperature of 400-700°C while nitrogen gas is inputted into the alumina filter. The water salt consists of LiCl salt or LiCl-KCl eutectic salt containing SrCl2, BaCl2, or a mixture thereof. SrCl2, BaCl2, or the mixture thereof contained in the waste salt is transformed into carbonate and precipitated, by applying Li2CO3 if the waste salt is LiCl salt and applying K2CO3 if the waste salt is LiCl-KCl. The alumina filter after reaction is removed from the reactor, thereby separating the precipitated carbonate from the melted waste salt.
