The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for separation of radioactive nuclides and recovery of renewable salt from salt-containing wastes. According to the apparatus and the method of the present invention, it is possible to maximize recovery processing efficiency and operational efficiency for salt wastes generated during a pyroprocess for spent nuclear fuel by distilling salt under reduced pressure after changing the salt-containing wastes into a thermally stable form using a single apparatus having two replaceable upper covers. Also, by abbreviating and simplifying an operational manipulation compared to existing processes, applicability and usefulness in a remote operation system for processing radioactive wastes can be highly improved. The method for separation of radionuclides and recovery of renewable salt from a salt waste comprises: a first step of converting the radionuclides included in the salt waste into an insoluble compound in the radionuclides by rotating the mixer to mix the radionuclides and chemical additives after installing a first upper cover in which a mixer is installed in a reaction/distillation apparatus; and a second step of separating the first upper cover in which the mixer is installed from the reaction/distillation apparatus after the chemical conversion in the first step is completed, installing a second upper cover in which a heater is installed in the reaction/distillation apparatus instead, and then separating the radionuclides and recovering the renewable salt by distilling the salt waste distillation under reduced pressure.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2015
