Hot-melt TTS for the administration of rotigotine and process for its preparation, and use of rotigotine in the manufacture of a hot-melt TTS

In a transdermal therapeutic system (TTS) comprising an adhesive matrix containing rotigotine (A) as active agent, the matrix is a hot-meltable contact adhesive. Independent claims are included for: (1) a TTS for continuous delivery of (A), which induces an average plasma (A) concentration of 0.4-2 ng/ml over a period of at least 5 days on application to human skin or transports (A) through the skin at a steady-state flux rate of 200-300 mu g/h over a period of at least 5 days; and (2) the production of a TTS including an adhesive matrix containing (A), by melting and homogenizing the components of the matrix at 70-200 (preferably 120-180)[deg]C (preferably in an extruder) before lamination.
