The sprinkler system is for a waste bunker (2) with a feed duct (3) to a burner (5). The bunker has a plant wall (9) to support piled up waste and an opposing side wall 8) also supporting piled up waste and with a filling opening (7). The latter sidewall has multiple sprinklers (14,15) for the sprayed extinguishant material. The sprinklers are provided in cut outs in the sidewalls. The expellers have conical fire extinguishant discharges (19) with a horizontal conical axis.
