The method involves detecting measured values (MW) of an acceleration sensor (S2), an ultrasonic sensor (S1) and/or a switch (S3). Level of an unauthorized intrusion into a vehicle is monitored based on exceeding or falling of one of threshold values (SW). Alarm units (A1-A3) are activated based on the determined level. A pulling of a handle, a movement of the vehicle and/or a lighter impact against the vehicle is identified as manipulation examination at the vehicle.
