The method involves acoustically detecting an infrasound inside a monitored zone, and converting into an infrasonic signal. A low pass level (T) and/or a high pass level (H) are determined from the infrasonic signal. The low pass level is compared with a preset low pass threshold (T0) and/or the high pass level is compared with a preset high pass threshold (H0). An intruder alarm is activated during an excession of the preset low pass threshold and/or the preset high pass threshold. An independent claim is also included for a device for implementing infrasonic intrusion detection.
