When forming linear and circular welding seams, electron beam is guided in wavy path in continuously changing shape in welding plane and direction.Thus wave-shaped welding seams aer produced and shrinkage considerably reduced. Preferably, overlapping, buff, border and pin seams can be formed in wavy shape in tungsten, molybdenum and similar metals.
