Method for producing syringe barrel and cannula composite of syringe structure-cannula assembly, involves moving beam focus relative to syringe cone so that weld seam is formed along beam path by expansion of glass and cannula material
A metal cannula (2) is inserted into a conical channel (5) of a glass syringe structure (3), and ultra-short laser pulses are focused on the glass (7) of syringe structure, such that a plasma zone is generated in the glass, to cause a change in density and reduce viscosity of glass in the region of focus (10) of laser beam (9), so that a gap (13) is formed between outside of cannula and inner wall (50) of the syringe cone. The focus of beam is moved relative to syringe cone, so that a weld seam is developed along the path of beam, through expansion of glass and material of cannula. An independent claim is included for a syringe structure-cannula assembly.
