Production of Brassica extracts from a Brassica biomass especially of the Oleracea type such as broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts or savoy cabbage involves (A) first comminuting the plant with the enzyme myrosinase in different cell compartments and with introduction into the mash of glucosinolate; and (B) recovering the resulting glucosinolate degradation product (especially the sulforaphane-containing extract) by separating off the liquid phase ACTIVITY : Cytostatic. MECHANISM OF ACTION : None given.
