The present invention provides the use of functional antibodies or parts thereof as well as active substances for the manufacture of medicaments which enable the treatment of dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM). In particular, the drugs serve to influence the Fc receptors, which could be detected for the first time on cardiac muscle cells. These findings and the medications provided are used to treat one of the most common heart diseases.
