Stirrer agitating material in open cylindrical vessels of widely-ranging sizes, is designed to run around vessel wall, using motor-driven transmission and agitator
A main body (1) of the unit includes bearings (3) allowing it to move relative to a vessel (8). A drive (6) and transmission components (4) are carried in the main body; these act against the vessel wall (9). In this way, the assembly is moved along a path defined by the vessel wall itself. A stirrer (7) fastened to the body (1) is moved through the material which is contained in the vessel, agitating it. The drive mechanism presses and acts against the outside and inside of the vessel wall. The stirrer (7) is connected to a shaft (5) from the transmission, causing an additional rotary motion in the material being stirred. A magnet fixed to the side of the main body, causes a force of attraction directed towards the ferrous vessel wall. This causes greater pressure between the drive components and the wall, improving transmission. The main body is like a clamp made in two parts. These are spring-loaded against each other, to grip against the vessel wall.
