Cable lock comprises housing (5) with passage (6) for cable (3) and locking device with clamping part (12) which in starting position extends into passage and is bent to the side by a cable fed into it, preventing it from being pulled out. It has a key-operated control arm (7) which keeps the control element in an open position. Clamping element on side facing away from cable is housed in a recess (14) on housing. This side is located nearer the cable in the starting position and in the locked position than in the open position. The clamping element is hinge-connected with the control arm via a clip, with which the clamping element can be moved into an open position when the control arm is turned.
