Implant replacing surface of head of femur comprises recess at lower edge for adjustment to deformed bone

The implant is designed as a semispherical cap covering the damaged surface of the head of the femur with a central spike for being inserted into the bone. In the case of a normal shape the spike is positioned along the central axis of the femur. The new design of an implant is provided with a recess (5) at its lower edge (8) in order to adjust its shape to a deformed bone with a displaced central axis.
