The circuit has an energy source (3) whose energy is delivered by switch actuation at therapy electrodes (1, 2) or paddle. An energy level adjusting device is provided for dosing of the energy that is supplied to the electrodes, where the energy level is adjustable by a set of operating units (7, 8) of the electrodes that are utilized for providing shock therapy during short-circuit or open circuit operation.
