Appliance has single chambered container placeable on floor of vehicle, motor-driven conveyor arranged within grit container and grit distributor with feed shaft and feed pipe for grit positioned outside container. Grit container has a wide flat bottom basin. A worm is arranged on the middle exterior of container. A gutter-like groove runs along the length of the basin under the worm, onto which the worm clasps. Grit distributor is arranged on the center outside. A stirring shaft with stirring tool is arranged on the center exterior next to worm. Shaft is stroke-driven in steps.
