The container (1) is set in a concrete casing (2) which has on the inside or outside a coating (3) with an adhesive tensile strength corresponding to at least an external pressure load of 1 bar. The concrete is preferably steel concrete and the coating can be a plastics or epoxy resin. The container has suction pipes and opening flaps (5). The container is dimensioned to balance rotors in vacuum conditions wherein the rotors can be turbines or compressors for use in electric motors or generators.
