The barrier has a partial simulation unit e.g. engine block (6), gear block (7), left wheel body (10) and right wheel body, supported elastically and flexibly over multiple resistance units e.g. spring units (12). A plastic deformable deformation unit e.g. comb/foam unit (14), is provided in the region of the partial simulation unit. Another elastically and plastically deformable partial simulation unit e.g. left vehicle longitudinal support (3), right vehicle longitudinal support and vehicle skin (15), is supported and fastened at a base plate (2). An independent claim is also included for a method for executing a vehicle crash test.
