Perylene bisimide radical anion (A) of formula (5), (6) or (7) as salt, preferably as tetrabutylammonium salt, or as salts with other cations as counter ions and lithium, sodium, potassium, rubidium, cesium salt or simple ammonium salt, mono-, di- and trialkylammonium salt or hydrogen ion of formula (H+), hydronium ion of formula (H3O+) or other hydrated proton or protonated forms, is new.
