The device has a magnetic roller (10) having several disk segments exceeding over a roller base. A comb metal sheet (120) is provided with (20) teeth and disk segments comb so that the magnetic roller is stored in a device between device components. The roller has a liquid flowing through a gap (40) and an inlet (70) for the liquid is arranged so that the liquid can flow continuously into the gap. The comb metal sheet is bent in relation to a horizontal level amounting to a 5deg angle. An independent claim is included for a method for removing particles from a liquid.
