The flow meter has measuring electrodes (6) inserted into a wall of a measuring pipe (1) in an electrically insulated manner for detecting measuring voltage. A magnetic unit arranged external to the pipe produces a magnetic field, which is aligned perpendicular to a flow direction of a conductive current medium (5). The pipe is provided with an electrically insulated layer (7), which is an abrasion-stable composite material made of an electrically non-conductive hard powder material combined with a polymer binder. A resin binder is used as the polymer binder for the powder material. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a measuring tube for a magnetic-inductive flow meter.
