The mass memory has a combination of RAM and ROM-memories, where the mass memory is utilized for a normal operation of a data processing system and is not generated from a main memory. The mass memory is configured with or without additional electronic circuits such that a large storage space occurs. The mass memory is detachably or non-detachably connected with a main board. The mass memory is provided with connectable and disconnectable write protection by suitable measures in order to protect the ROM-memory.
