The method involves receiving externally supplied program data, and detecting whether the received program data is related to total data of multi-level memory cells and corresponds to multi page data. The received program data is programmed, and the multi-page data is loaded into a page buffer. Bits of the multi-page data are programmed into the memory cells by the page buffer, where the memory cells are identified during programming a unique address or during reading different addresses. The received program data is stored in a RAM (1200) of a memory system (1000).
