The device has two clamping areas (A,B), in which for fixing one of the work pieces a clamping force is exerted onto the work piece between the clamping claw pair (1,2). Each clamping area has force switching medium (3,4). The force switching medium derives a contact pressure (k) directed at the joining surface (7) transverse to the clamping direction (s) from the clamping force. An independent claim is also included for a clamping claw for the clamping device.
