The method involves exposing a black/white microfilm (6) with a partial image of a source image (5) represented at a color monitor (3), where the partial image has a pixel, which corresponds to a grid of a light spot of a determined color at the monitor. The partial image is displayed at the monitor with the light spot and is reproduced at the microfilm. The microfilm is exposed till the partial images for all the colors of light spots are exposed, and exposing time of the partial image is adapted to photosensitivity of the microfilm for the respective color. An independent claim is also included for an exposing device with a color monitor for representing a source image.
